Science
is defined as the “systematic and organised gaining of knowledge that is
derived from observations, which are verified and tested thoroughly.” Accumulation
of facts, discovering and inventing new theories depending on these facts can
also be termed as science. Formal Science represents those disciplines that
deal with symbols and theoretical ideas and their applications in the real
world. Aspects of formal science are used in all other scientific disciplines. Formal
science includes computer science, mathematics, and statistics. Those working
in the Natural Sciences use the scientific method to understand nature and the
physical world. Natural science includes biology, chemistry, geology, and
physics. Social Science is the study of societies and the interactions within
them. Social science includes anthropology, psychology and sociology.
